The Big Indie Pitch (Mobile+PC+Console Edition) at The GameExpo Summit 2024 powered by PG Connects

This May 7th and 8th, the Pocket Gamer Connects team are once again partnering with the Dubai Economy & Tourism department (DET) to bring the global games industry an unmissable conference experience in the glorious city of Dubai, part of the fastest-growing region of the international games industry.

The GameExpo Summit powered by PG Connects will take place over two days alongside the larger GameExpo event at the hub of sustainability and innovation, Expo City Dubai. The summit itself will feature more than 100 renowned games industry speakers from all over the globe delivering insightful talks, panels and seminars across a number of themed tracks.

Of course, this also means that the Big Indie Pitch is returning to Dubai, as our unique speed dating format gives each developer 5 minutes (including Q&A) with each room of expert judges, meaning entrants will get feedback in real-time and post-event via email too. Think speed-dating for developers and experts, and you get the idea.

That’s not all though, as the top three will also be interviewed and get editorial coverage across Steel Media’s, making this a great chance to get you, your studio and your game played by the world. There’s also free tickets and event space at a future Pocket Gamer Connects up for grabs to the winner too.

What? How? Who?

How it’ll work couldn’t be simpler. We’re inviting indie developers of all shapes and sizes along in order to pitch their games to our teams of tame industry experts, publishers, veteran developers and media.

Approximately 15 teams will run the gauntlet, giving their all in quickfire 5-minute pitches to demonstrate that their title is worthy of the Big Indie Pitch crown and coverage in the games media.

Be a part of it

If you fancy the chance of winning the Big Indie Pitch, getting signed up couldn’t be easier.

The basic criteria:

• You can pitch games for Mobile, PC and Console
• You can pitch your game even if you’ve pitched it at a previous BIP
• We prefer to see unreleased games, though we’re happy to see games that are out too
• We allow studios with a max of 12 members to enter the Big Indie Pitch (this includes the staff of any partners you are working with)

All submissions will be notified if they are successful in their application to pitch at the event. Please note that all entrants must be able to attend the event and Steel Media will not cover costs associated with getting to the event.

The closing date for entries is Monday 21st April 2025.
