It feels like an age since we’ve been able to host the pitch in person, and whilst our digital pitches aren’t going anywhere, we couldn’t be more excited to be able to return to hosting physical pitches. Even better, we’re coming back with a bang, as we host what has always traditionally been our biggest indie celebration of the year, The Very Big Indie Pitch at Pocket Gamer Connects London. We’re still working out all the details but we hope to allow a mix of in-person pitching and digital pitching too as we embrace the hybrid model that the entire Pocket Gamer Connects show will utilise.

For those not in the know though, The Very Big Indie Pitch offers shortlisted developers a chance to impress some of the best experts the industry has to offer (including journalists publishers, investors, and notable indies), answer questions and gather expert insight on their game.

Our unique speed dating format gives each developer 5 minutes with each table of expert judges, meaning entrants will get real feedback from the event. The winners will also be covered across Steel Media’s network of website (such as Pocket Gamer and PC Games Insider), making this a great chance to get your game up in lights.

What? How? Who?

How it’ll work couldn’t be simpler. We’re inviting indie developers of all shapes and sizes along in order to pitch their games to our teams of tame journalists.

Approximately 15 teams will run the gauntlet, giving their all in quickfire 5-minute pitches to demonstrate that their title is worth of the Big Indie Pitch crown and coverage in the games media.

Be a part of it

If you fancy the chance of winning the Big Indie Pitch, getting signed up couldn’t be easier.

The basic criteria:

  • You can pitch games for Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Mac & Linux
  • You can pitch unfinished games
  • You can pitch your game even if you’ve pitched it at a previous BIP
  • We prefer to see unreleased games, though we’re happy to see games that are out too
  • Games must be presented by developers either via video, or on laptops.
  • We allow studios with a max of 12 members to enter the Big Indie Pitch (this includes the staff of any partners you are working with)

NOTE: Shortlisted entries receive TWO FREE passes to PGC London 2021. Non-shortlisted entries qualify for a discounted Pocket Gamer Connects ticket.

All submissions will be notified if they are successful in their application to pitch at the event. Please note that all entrants must be able to attend the event and Steel Media will not cover costs associated with getting to the event.
