IN ASSOCIATION WITH
For the last 12 years, the Big Indie Pitch has been helping to discover, promote and support indie game developers from all over the world, giving them a platform to share their incredible games with a mixture of publishers, platforms and press. In the last 12 months alone we’ve held 18 different pitch events and witnessed over 260 awesome games via our digital pitches.
Taking place live both online and in-person, The Big Indie Awards continues and extends this core mission, celebrating the very best indie games and game developers from all around the world, including those who may not have yet made it to one of our pitch events.
The awards are open to any studio that classifies as indie (typically we’d say 12 staff or less, but we may make the odd exception if you twist our arm), which has released a game or pitched its title at a BIP since September 1, 2020.
How does it work?
Anyone can nominate their game – or even a game they’ve played and loved that someone else has created – and these will enter into a longlist that will then be trimmed down by our expert panel into a final shortlist. These in turn will be voted for by a combination of industry experts and players (depending on the award) and the winning titles will be unveiled at a ceremony in mid-February.
When nominating, please do suggest one (or more) categories that you feel are most suitable. Games can of course win in multiple categories.
Who can enter? The basic criteria:
The longlist, including further details of the awards and how to vote for the winners, will be revealed closer to the Awards.
In the meantime though, fill out the form by hitting the “I want to win” button and submit a game for consideration for The Big Indie Awards 2022.

Please note: ALL indie developers can submit their game through this entry form (previous Big Indie Pitch top 3 finalists will also be automatically submitted)
The closing date for entries will be announced closer to the Awards.
There is an array of prizes up for grabs including:
Naturally there’s also a fair amount of media coverage, an award and global adoration to be had, too.
The Big Indie Awards are the latest grand plan from the Steel Media team (the firm behind Pocket Gamer, PG.biz, PG Connects, the Global Connects Parties and, of course, the Big Indie Pitch series itself).
Launched in 2005, G-STAR is the annual South Korean computer and video game trade show. It’s a one-stop, accessible gateway to the Asian market and it sees the biggest players in publishing, development and investment gather every year to do business and set the industry trends. G-STAR is open to both trade visitors and consumers, and it takes place on November 15-18 at BEXCO, Busan. In 2018 a focus for G-STAR will be the international scene so national pavilion participants will be strongly welcomed. As well as booths from representatives around the globe, 2018’s G-STAR will be heavily promoting the indie game scene. That’s where you come in. For more information about the conference, visit the official site.
